David Miller off the mark in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR:  Oct 20, 2012

David Miller, granted a licence to train in Malaysia in May, is finally off the mark after saddling U S BOLT (Castledale - Flounce by Prince Ferdinand) to victory in the "Carlsberg Gold" Sprint, a Class 4 - 1200m event at Sungei Besi here today.

Based in Penang, the Kiwi has taken his time to send out his first runners and U S BOLT, which he took over recently, was only his 11th runner to date.

U S BOLT made his debut last December and did not race again until July this year when he finished fourth to in a Restricted Maiden event.

Despite the three-month break, he started a firm favourite today with Jackie Chuah in the saddle and the New Zealand four-year-old was always travelling well throughout, coasting home by three and a quarter lengths.
