Moreira at brilliant best with six winners

Champion jockey Joao Moreira was at his brilliant best when he equalled his personal best of six winners in one meeting at Kranji this evening. The Brazilian was also placed in his two other rides.

Moreira first hit half-a-dozen on Aug 7 last year and was unbeatable in his first five rides this evening. Save for MARATHON LAD (Faltaat - Miss Tea Rose by Gold Brose) having to fight for his win in the Restricted Maiden - 1200m sprint, the others ran out comfortable winners.

The midas touch of Moreira worked wonders on SOCIAL NETWORK (More Than Ready - Rachael's Pride by Akhadan) who broke through for his first win in Singapore when ridden by the champion for the first time in the Class 5, Div 1 - 1400m. The gelding had won two races in Australia.

SHOPPING LIST (Honours List - Mrs Shine by Marquetry) was another who benefited from a new partnership with Moreira who wound up the evening with RENA CROSS (Cape Cross - Renaissance by Centro).

Benefiting from Moreira's superb showing tonight was trainer Desmond Koh who registered his first wins of the 2012 season with MARATHON LAD and SHOPPING LIST.
