Moreira hits 200 with Golden Dominator

Needing just one win to hit the magical 200 mark after his double on Friday night, Joao Moreira had 11 rides today to achieve the phenomenal milestone at Kranji.

But the Brazilian had to wait until the very last ride to achieve the feat when GOLDEN DOMINATOR scored a runaway win in the Class 4, Div 2 - 1400m handicap.

The New Zealand four-year-old managed just one win in 16 starts and was beaten favourite last time when ridden by Moreira. But the gelding made no mistake this time when he cruised home by three and a quarter lengths.

After the race, Moreira said he was lost for words to describe hw he felt.

"I have to thank all those people that have supported me throughout the year and over my whole time here in Singapore," he said. "Halfway through the year I didn’t think that I would get there (200 winners) but over the past few weeks I thought it was a chance and I decided to push for it."
