Nawawi lands first win on No Uncertainty

The long search for his maiden win is finally over for apprentice Muhd Nawawi Ahmad (A Nawawi).

Not short of opportunities, the Dr Tan Swee Hock apprentice had 71 rides last year for 12 placings, including five second place finishes.

This season, Nawawi found one to beat thrice before winning his 38th ride on NO UNCERTAINTY (Trade Fair - Princess Camilla by King's Best) in the final event here today.

NO UNCERTAINTY was purchased for trainer Chong Keng Leong for just A$11,000 as a yearling but he never got to training him. The gelding initially headed to Singapore but never raced there.

Shipping over to Penang, he had just one run under Cecil Robert before Dr Tan took charge and he has now chalked up two wins in 12 starts for Tan who is enjoying his best season yet, currently lying second in the table with 23 winners.
