NICEONE has returned to
racing after a six-month layoff due to knee surgery with two wins from two
starts after he beat the favourite SPEEDY CAT in main event, the Class 2 -
1200m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji here tonight.
Ridden for the first time
by Stephen Baster, NICEONE (Ishiguru - Triage by Vollsraad) won by one
length and had to survive an objection lodged by the rider of the runner-up
for alleged interference in the home stretch to notch his fifth win in seven
starts.
The favourite ruined his
chances when he was slow into stride at the start but take nothing away from
the winner who was purchased by his owner for NZ$50,000 at the Ready To Run
Sale.
"He had knee surgery for
chip bone and I have to take him along slowly. I don’t have any major plans
for him at this stage, just take him through his grades," said trainer
Leslie Khoo.
