DUSKY MAIDEN (Bertolini -
Extra by Prince Salieri) kicked off in what turned out to be a day of upsets
and huge dividends with a comeback victory in the opening race here today.
The former three-time
winner at Kranji picked up two wins over the Ipoh 1100m straight course
early last year after relocating to Malaysia.
But without a win for 15
months, the now eight-year-old, ridden by Jai Shankar, surprised punters
when she showed her rivals a clean pair of heels, leading all the way to win
by three and a half lengths and paid RM347 for a win.
Another seasoned
campaigner, nine-year-old GOLDEN MIGHT (Danachenka - Prepose by Our Horizon)
also sprang a surprise after winless more than 12 months to win a Class 4 -
1100m sprint and paid RM240 for a win.
