Trainer Prakash Pereira,
who is making a comeback this season after spending two years on the
sidelines, signalled his return with shock winner LADY DIAMOND in the
opening race here today.
The newcomer, ridden by
apprentice Mohd Fauzi, mastered the front running HONESTLY SPEAKING to win
by half-a-length.
LADY DIAMOND (Bio Master -
Good Job by Rodrigo De Triano) is the first Japanese bred trained by Pereira
and his fifth runner on his return to the scene.
Pereira was based by Kuala
Lumpur when he was attacked by a group of men in December 2009, suffering a
fractured left leg and bruises all over his body.
He was subsequently
disqualified two years for statements made to a Singapore newspaper but
later won his appeal.
Pereira was granted stables
in Ipoh last year and his comeback cemented by his winner in more than two
years today.
