Welcome change of luck for Peter Lee

IPOH:  Jan 1, 2012

Peter Lee, who is the only trainer granted a six-month licence for the 2012 season after failing to land a winner last year, has at last something to cheer about.

ETERNAL CHEERS (King Cugat - Ingenuity by Alzao), his fourth runner of the opening weekend of the new season, broke the duck in his 32nd start to cause an upset in a Class 5 - 1600m handicap here today.

Ridden by Jai Shankar, the Australian six-year-old had to battle hard to beat BEE SIXTY FIVE by a neck.

New trainer Nor Azman, who won the first two races of the new season yesterday, again took the opening event today with MY DIAMOND (El Moxie - At The Bar by Akaabar).

Only four races were run today before heavy rain forced the cancellation of the remaining four events.
