With Malaysia taking a
break in racing this weekend, Azhar Ismail made a rare (these days anyway)
foray into Singapore and was rewarded with a Singapore Group 2 win in the
Aushorse Golden Horseshoe at Kranji tonight.
The 1200m set-weight event brought together
the cream of Singapore's juveniles and the race did not disappoint, with
PITSTOP (Zizou - Pottinger by Al Hareb) coming from well off the pace to
nail the front-running EASY MAN by a head. Only a length separated the first
four horses at the post.
Azhar was at Kranji last month when he guided
PITSTOP to a second placing in the gelding's debut. The half-brother to
BLESSWITHSPEED has impressed in his work since, prompting racegoers to
install him a form second favourite tonight.
