Mr Raffles wins again on return to Kranji

MR RAFFLES returned to racing at Kranji tonight after winning the Penang Sprint Trophy last month and once again emerged triumphant in the Kranji Stakes A - 1200m sprint.

Whereas he outclassed his rivals in Penang, winning by five and a quarter lengths with Greg Cheyne in the saddle, he had a much tougher time tonight.

With a change of rider to apprentice Mohd Rizuan Shafiq, MR RAFFLES (Storm Creek - Force Fillee by Foxbay) was engaged in a thrilling duel with METEOR MIKE before winning by a short head.

Trained by Michael Freedman, the New Zealand seven-year-old has now won seven of 24 starts since arriving in Singapore. He also had two wins in four starts in New Zealand.

Freedman said his charge is in great heart and was thriving around the stable after his trip to Penang. "He really seems to be enjoying his racing and the training."
