NEW ROSE WOOD bounced back
to form after 24 months out in the cold to win the S$150,000 Marsiling
Classic Stakes over 1800m at Kranji here today.
The mare last tasted
success on Mar 21, 2010, after which she chalked up six consecutive placings
which included the Patrons' Bowl and Emirates Singapore Derby, the final two
legs of the four-year-old challenge.
After losing her form last
season, his owners decided on a change of trainer to Cliff Brown.
Starting for the fifth time
under ner new trainer today, NEW ROSE WOOD (Love A Dane - Western Explorer
by Is It True) came from last early to beat the odds-on favourite FLYING
FULTON who had already won the New Year Cup and Polytrack Mile Championship
this season.
"We’ve
done a lot of things to get her interested in racing again and it was her
second placing at her last start that convinced us that we had her back,"
said Brown.
