Jockey Sandana Kumar Sreetharan (S Sandana) was today handed a two-month suspension for causing the fall of WINDSPOUT, ridden by M Razali, in a Class 4 - 1400m sprint here yesterday.

At the conclusion of an inquiry today, Sandana, the rider of CIZEN BANK, pleaded guilty to a charge of reckless riding under MRA Rule 44(9)(a)(i) in that near the 200m, he permitted his mount, CIZEN BANK, to shift inwards whilst riding along with the whip when insufficiently clear of WINDSPOUT causing that gelding to clip his heels, stumble and fall, thereby dislodging its rider.

BOARDWALK EMPIRE (A Kumarentheran), BASSANIO (KT Cheng), WESTERN CONQUEROR (App I Fadzlei), MY HERO (SH Lee), SOVEREIGN ACE (G Hind), TRACK HERO (App Z Khairil), THE IDEAL ONE (S Sani) and WISE KING (LL Tai) all had to take evasive action from the fallen horse and suffered varying degrees of interference. In so doing, he showed no regard to the consequences of his action and the risk to others by his riding and in particular the danger of injury to other horses and riders.
