For a horse who cost just
A$600 as a two-year-old, SENTOSA has proven to be pretty useful on the track
after recording his second win in 16 starts here today.
Partnered by Tai Lee Leong,
the four-year-old proved too speedy for his rivals to win a Class 5 - 1100m
sprint, following up his win over 1200m on the same track last Dec 17.
SENTOSA (Canny Lad -
Berries by King Of Kings) was purchased at the Sydney Autumn Thoroughbred
Sale inn 2010 for racing in Singapore but his career did not get off the
ground until he was transferred to trainer Simon Liew in Ipoh.
Meanwhile, Luke Danis
brought his tally to five for the meeting when he saddled another two
winners today to add to the treble he had yesterday.
HUNTER (Catbird - Donna
Rica by Supremo) broke the ice in his 15th start to register an upset
victory in the opening event and Danis completed his double with FARRAND
(King Cugat - Happy Play by Barathea).
The latter has blossomed
under the former jockey-turned-trainer. Today's win was the gelding's third
win in five starts under Danis and his fifth win in 17 starts. Danis moves
to second in the table with eight winners, just one behind Barry Brogan.
