Shocking start to year of Dragon for punters

KUALA LUMPUR:  Jan 23, 2012

Punters started the year of the Dragon on a shock note when SINAR GEMILANG (Arazi - Shakia by Keltrice) broke through for his maiden win in 15 starts to claim the first event at Sungei Besi here today.

Ridden by Sani Suhairi, the six-year-old got home by three-quarter length to pay RM363 for a win on course.

There was a bigger upset in the Great Prosperity Stakes (Class 4 - 1200m) when DELTA WING (Garrison Savannah - Total Harmony by Spartacus) also broke the duck in six starts to pay RM542 for a win.

Following their complete domination when they won all the 13 races on the card on Jan 14, Kuala Lumpur trainers claimed nine of the 10 races on their home base today.
