Stepitup rolls on with runaway win

STEPITUP stretched his unbeaten run to three with a runaway victory in the Kranji Stakes C - 1200m sprint on the polytrack at Kranji today.

It also brought new trainer Sonny Yeoh's tally to seven since he took over from his brother Dr Yeoh Kheng Chye on Sept 1.

Ridden by Ivaldo Santana, STEPITUP was always well up with the pace and easily swept the front in the home stretch and cleared away from the rest to win by four and a quarter lengths.

It was his most impressive performance yet for the well bred A$90,000 yearling. His dam AIN'T SEE NOTHIN' had eight wins including three listed races and was third in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes and fourth in both the Group 1 Australian Oaks and Group 1 LKS Mackinnon Stakes.

Yeoh has high praise for his charge. "He’s only small but he’s got a big heart. I think he’ll go far."

STEPITUP was the middle leg of a treble for Santana and the 50th winner for the Brazilian jockey in Singapore.

Also notching a treble was Joao Moreira who landed his 200th winner of the season last Sunday but drew a blank on Friday evening.
