Nine-year-old SUPERCZAR
showed that there is plenty of fire left in him when he scored an impressive
win in the Kranji Stakes C - 1700m event on the polytrack at Kranji tonight.
Ridden by new partner Alan
Munro who first rode him when finishing third last time out, SUPERCZAR (St
Petersburg - Avgenia by Sir Laurence) came with a well-timed run to win by
two lengths.
It was his first win after
a lapse of nearly 15 months but his tenth in 74 starts and has been trained
by David Hill for all his career stretching back to 2007.
This season's leading
apprentice Tengku Rehaizat prevented a clean sweep by expatriate jockeys
when he rode an inspired race to win on KNIGHT SCORPIO (Stratum - Snorvig by
Whiskey Road) in the Class 4 - 1600m handicap.
Champion jockey Joao
Moreira had another superb meeting, booting home four winners and brought
his tally for the season to 148.
