The results will show that
SUPER EASY (Darci Brahma - Parfore by Gold Brose) won the S$500,000
Singapore Guineas (1600m) narrowly to complete a clean sweep of the
Singapore three-year-old series and stretch his unbeaten run in Singapore to
ten wins.
But the margin of a neck
over his stablemate CASH LUCK belied the fact that it was a remarkable
victory, one that was due largely to the superb riding of champion jockey
Joao Moreira.
The odds-on favourite,
drawn on the inside barrier, was trapped on the rails with nowhere to go. As
soon as a gap opened, it was closed repeatedly in the home stretch. It was
only in the final 100m that Moreira managed to ease him out behind runners
to gain a run.
Once he saw daylight, SUPER
EASY came charging home and held off a late effort by CASH LUCK, giving
trainer Michael Freedman a quinella in the Singapore Group 1 event.
SUPER EASY not only brought
his prizemoney in Singapore to pass the A$1.13 mark, he also earned his
owners Joy N Happiness Stable a bonus of A$150,000 for the clean sweep.
