SUPER EASY stretched his
unbeaten run in Singapore to nine wins in the S$350,000 Singapore 3YO
Classic over 1400m at Kranji here today, not before giving his legend of
backers a scare in the Group 2 contest.
The New Zealand colt was
caught behind runners and on the rails making the home turn and it was only
well into the home straight that he managed to ease out for a run.
Once he got going, however,
SUPER EASY (Darci Brahma - Parfore by Gold Brose) easily cleared away from
his rivals to win by one and a quarter lengths.
Having won the 3YO Sprint
three weeks ago, the Michael Freedman-trained youngster is in line for a
clear sweep of the three-year-old series. The final leg, the Singapore
Guineas over 1600m, will be run on May 18.
"I’ve always been confident
he will run out a strong mile as he is so relaxed in his runs now. He’s
definitely heading to the third Leg,” said Freedman after the colt's win
today.
Purchased by Freedman for NZ$140,000 as a yearling, SUPER EASY races thrice in
New Zealand for a win at Trentham, a second (Group 3 Eclipse Stakes) and a
fourth (listed Karaka Million).
