Being gelded may just propel TRUDEAU's racing career to a new level.

After winning twice in Australia, he won his debut in Class 4 in Malaysia and was quickly moved to Singapore where he went through an exasperating sequence of six placings before finding the mark in Class 3 last April.

TRUDEAU then went off the radar in the middle of the year when he finished down in the field in three consecutive runs.

That was when a decision was made to geld him. "He had had his chance as a colt so we decided to geld him and hopefully get a few more years racing out of him that way," said trainer Bruce Marsh.

On resuming after a four-month break, TRUDEAU ran a smack-up fifth four weeks ago and stepped up on that effort to snatch the S$75,000 RDA 30th Anniversary Cup at Kranji today.
