Trainer Wayne Lim finally
saddled his first winner when ROCK AND STONE (Stormy's Son - Girl With A
Curl by Bletchley Park) carved out a narrow win in a Class 5 - 1200m sprint
here today.
It was the 72nd runner for
the first season trainer since being granted his licence early this year. It
was also the maiden win for ROCK AND STONE who had failed to show up
in eight previous starts.
ROCK AND STONE was
purchased for just $10,000 as a yearling in Perth and Wayne Lim is the
brother of former jockey Richard Lim.
Meanwhile, trainer Luke
Danis has his best day when he saddled four winners to move up to second in
the table with 18 winners.
The former jockey had set
the pace with doubles and trebles early in the season but has slipped down
the tables in recent weeks. His quartet today comes as a welcome change of
luck. However, two of them came as a shock to punters.
Malaysian bred CASH MAN (Becquerel - Medieval
Charm by Sunny Clime) caused the biggest upset of the day when he carved out
a narrow win in Race 5, paying RM232 for a win. It was his fifth win in 48
starts. MID EAST
CONQUEROR (San Luis - Shot The Moggy by Tale Of The Cat) returned to the
winner's circle after more than eight months in the last event to pay RM141.
It was his fourth win in 46 outings.
