YEHLAISIANG (late Say No
More), who scored his maiden last time out last month when racing under a
new name for the first time, defied a promotion to make it a double in the
Class 4 - 1800m handicap here today.
Ridden this time by Martin
Wepner, the New Zealand four-year-old accounted for a field of seasoned
campaigners to win by three quarters of a length.
Costing NZ$42,500 as a
weanling, YEHLAISAING (No Excuse Needed - Sorgente by O'Reilly) had just two
starts for Auric Stable in Singapore before he moved across the causeway to
join trainer Luke Danis who is setting the pace in the trainer's
championship this season.
He leads the table with 12
winners, two ahead of fellow Ipoh trainers Nor Azman and Leong Poh Keong.
