A change of name has
brought the desired result for YEHLAISIANG when he finally broke through for
his maiden win in a Class 5 - 1700n handicap here today.
The New Zealand gelding,
who cost NZ$42,500 as a weanling, managed just three placings in 14 starts
when racing as SAY NO MORE.
Racing under his new name
for the first time today, YEHLAISIANG (No Excuse Needed - Sorgente by
O'Reilly) proved too good for his rivals when he romped home by three and a
quarter lengths and gave trainer Luke Danis his sixth winner of the meeting.
Khalid Eirwan, who rode
YEHLAISIANG, went on to complete a double on FIVE CLAWS (Langfuhr - Great
Connection by Dayjur) two races later and consolidated his position at the
top of the jockey's table with ten wins.
