Fresh from winning the
Asian Young Guns Challenge in New Zealand last Saturday, boom apprentice
A'Isisuhairi Kassim resumed riding at Kranji this evening with an early
double to move up a spot to fourth in the overall jockey's table.
PREMIER GRADE, unplaced in
five starts since chalking up his maiden win last February, was back in the
winner's circle after a perfect ride by the Kelantan lad who was partnering
him for the first time this evening in the opening event.
A'Isisuhairi, who started
his career in New Zealand before going to Australia briefly and then
Singapore, the showed maturity beyond his limited years in the saddle to
land BOOMARANG DELUXE a first-up winner in the Restricted Maiden - 1000m
sprint. All races this evening was staged on the polytrack.
BOOMERANG DELUXE struggled
to keep pace with the leaders and was laying out but A'Isisuhari managed to
get him going to win by one length.
"I rode him in trackwork
and he was a bit dumb and lazy then. He was a lot more switched on today,
but he’s still got plenty of improvement in him," said A'Isisuhairi.
