Allpress lands double in Kuala Lumpur

KUALA LUMPUR:  Oct 12, 2013

Currently in the midst of a three-month stint in Singapore, Lisa Allpress made a quick dash across the causeway and was rewarded with a double at Sungei Besi here today.

Allpress is no stranger to Malaysian racing, having ridden successfully in the past under her maiden name Lisa Mumby and also earlier this year before her current stint in Singapore which has netted her six wins thus far.

From a near full book of 10 rides, Allpress was off the mark when she partnered EASY AHEAD to a comfortable win in a Class 5 - 1400m handicap, with the Australian five-year-old breaking the duck in his 22nd start.

Alpress completed a double when she was hard pressed on BOOKY BOY with the New Zealand five-year-old bringing up a double and notching his fifth win in 28 starts.

The big shock of the afternoon came in the feature race of the day, the RM75,000 Kelang Silver Bowl for Class 3 horses over 1600m, when GENEROUS TYCOON returned to the winner's circle after three and a half years and paid RM654 for a win.
