Azhar makes move with brilliant treble

PENANG:  Aug 11, 2013

A brilliant treble today saw Azhar Ismail take the lead in the jockey's table for the first time this season.

The seven-time champion in Malaysia will no doubt want to regain the title he last won in 2010.

Azhar showed his intention as early as the opening event, winning on newcomer LEANDRA who had raced four times in New Zealand for a fourth.

MAKEMEAMILLION, who recorded all his previous four wins on wet tracks, again appreciated the yielding going to give Azhar an easy all-the-way win for his second strike of the day.

The veteran jockey wound up the day scoring on MILITARY ATTACK who has now won four times in nine starts.

Azhar now leads the table with 33 wins, two ahead of Jai Shankar who is sidelined because of injury.
