Good Baby too good in MRA Cup

GOOD BABY, who last triumphed in the Sultan Gold Vase (1100m) on this track last July, picked up his third big win when successful in the RM300,000 MRA Cup here today.

The Australian gelding also won the RM1mil Malaysia Magic Millions Classic in 2011.

Golden Knight Stable, who received their champion owner trophy for 2012 today, had four runners engaged in the 1400m open handicap.

Azhar Ismail, who has in the past occasionally picked the wrong stable runner in the big races, was right on the dot this time as GOOD BABY, whom he also piloted to victory in the Sultan Gold Vase, romped home by two lengths ahead of ROCKET MASTER.

The winner's stablemates GOOD SIGHT and GOOD JUDGEMENT were third and fourth respectively. The going was soft.

After his Gold Vase success, GOOD BABY finished third to stablemate SPEED BABY in the Coronation Cup and was unplaced in the Yang Di Pertua Negero Gold Cup and Tunku Gold Cup before regaining his winning form today.

Sold for A$110,000 as a weanling, he was passed in at A$130,000 at the yearling sale but was eventually picked up by Golden Knight Stable who has now won close to RM1,300,000 with the gelding.
