Singapore based apprentice
Tengku Rehaizat made a dream Malaysian debut when he piloted HARDEN UP to
victory in the first heat of the Malaysian 3YO Championship run over 1100m
here today. And the
champion apprentice at Kranji last year nearly made it two from two when he
finished second in the other heat over 1200m on RISING EMPIRE. Both horses
are trained by Wee Mung Hua.
HARDEN UP was resuming after two spells on the
sidelines and recently tranferred to Wee after registering one win from four
starts in Singapore.
The change of scenery did the trick. HARDEN UP, after tracking the leader
till the home turn, took over the running at the top of the straight and
went to win by two lengths.
RISING EMPIRE was given every chance by
Rehaizat but found GHOST STREET a shade too good, going down by
three-quarter of a length.
Rehaizat has two more rides for Wee tomorrow,
including KING EMPIRE in the RM500,000 Sprint Trophy.
