Singapore based jockey Greg
Cheyne's recent love affair with Malaysian racing is getting stronger
after he booted home three winners at Sungei Besi this afternoon.
After winning the Sprint
Trophy last July on MR RAFFLES in his first ever ride in Malaysia, the South
African waited until January this year to make the trip up north again to
ride at Sungei Besi where he promptly won his first three rides.
Since then, Cheyne has
crossed the causeway a few more times. Last Sunday, instead of
riding in the Singapore 3YO Sprint meeting at Kranji, Cheyne elected to ride
at the Selangor Gold Cup meeting here.
Although he only finished
third on GOOD JUDGEMENT in the big race, he did come away with a winner (SAGAR'S
EXPRESS).
This afternoon, however, he
hogged the limelight with three winners for trainer Johnny Lim, and winning
the feature race, the Dato Ronald Khoo Teng Swee Trophy on ISNOTTHEPRICE.
The Class 3 race was staged
in memory of the late chairman of the Selangor Turf Club.
