Luke Danis, who resumed
training only two weeks ago after serving a three-month suspension, is back
in the winner's circle after saddling MILITARY ATTACK to victory in the
RM55,000 Korilya Stud Trophy here today.
The Class 4 - 1100m
handicap is the first of many sponsored and reciprocal races to be staged by
Penang Turf Club during its four-day Sprint Trophy beginning today.
MILITARY ATTACK, who cost
just A$3,000 as a yearling, has already won twice in six starts for Danis
before taking a break from racing, coinciding with the trainer's time on the
sidelines.
Ridden by Noel Callow who
is making his first appearance in Penang for sometime, MILITARY ATTACK won
by one length and a quarter in the soft going.
Penang based trainers got
the meeting off to a great start on their home turf by winning five of the
six races held today.
