New racing season starts with a dead-heat

IPOH:  Jan 5, 2013

The 2013 racing season in Malaysia started on a sensational note when WARN YOU MAN and ENGINE dead-heated to win the opening event here today.

WARN YOU MAN was partnered by Eirwan Khalid who won the jockey's premiership for the first time last year with 59 winners, eight more than second-placed Jose De Souza.

The career of both horses had been interrupted by multiple spells on the sidelines. WARN YOU MAN resumed from nearly five months out to register his second win last November.

ENGINE recorded his only previous win in October 2010 at Kranji and has shown a return to form since moving to Malaysia with a 4-2-2 record in his last three starts.
