Fayd'Herbe lands first win in Singapore

Despite limited opportunities due to his riding weight, South African jockey Bernard Fayd'Herbe was able to land his first winner in Singapore when successful on ROYAL BRAT at Kranji here today.

It was only his eighth ride in his current one-month stint which started on Oct 1. In his only previous appearance in Singapore, he finished second astride RIVER JETEZ behind GITANO HERNANDO in the Singapore Airlines International Cup in 2011.

His stint here this month is primarily to partner FLAX in the Panasonic Kranji Mile and Raffles Cup but the South African gelding was unfortunately injured and will be out for three months.

With only two rides today, Fayd'Herbe seized his chances to make all the running on ROYAL BRAT. It was the gelding's fourth win this season and sixth from 45 starts.
