Two French jockeys to ride

Globe-trotting French jockeys David Badel and Jerome Lermyte will make their Malaysian debut at Sungei Besi this Sunday and are expected to be riding here for the next three months at least. Badel, 36, with 444 winners to his name, has ridden in his native France, Dubai, Qatar, Tunisia, Serbia, Germany, UK, Italy, Australia, India, Bahrain, Turkey and Macau, winning major stakes races in India, Serbia, Dubai and Qatar. Badel has picked up four rides on Sunday: BRILLIANT TYCOON, DIAMOND VISTA, BOOK OF KEELS and DIAMOND FLAME. Lermyte, 24, commenced his apprenticeship in October 2005 and rode 70 winners as an apprentice. After turning professional in November 2008, he has gone on to ride in Germany, America, Mauritius, Qatar and Macau and has been in Australia for past several months after his stint in Macau. He has 234 winners to his name. Lermyte has five rides: QUE SERA SERA, BUENA VISTA, I AM WHO I AM, FANTASTIC OWNERS and TARAMIS. |
