It has not taken Ivaldo
Santana long to get back into the groove of things after missing more than
three months of action due to a nasty fall last August.
In his second meeting back
in the saddle last Sunday, Santana landed a double astride HIGHLIGHT and
EMPRESS WU.
Follow his comeback double
came the news this week that he has been granted a one-year licence for the
new season, thus extending his stay in Singapore.
And the Brazilian
celebrated that news with another victory astride GAZOO in the Initiation -
1200m sprint at Kranji tonight.
GAZOO was originally sold
for A$10,000 as a yearling but was purchased by trainer Leticia Dragon as a
two-year-old after an impressive trial victory back in April and landed in
Singapore a month later.
Beaten favourite when
fourth in his debut last month, the three-year-old son of Zizou quickly made
amends, coming from well off the pace early to win drawing away by one and a
quarter lengths.
"He needed the run at his
first start and then he went and had a nice trial leading up to this race,"
said Dragon.
