ATTORNEY GENERAL, whose promising career was
derailed by a 23-month period on the sidelines, is back on track after
chalking up his third victory of the season in the RM75,000 Dato Sir Clough
Thuraisingham Trophy at Sungei Besi here today.
The Class 3 - 1200m is staged in memory of the
late former chairman of the Selangor Turf Club.
Ridden by Yudanyl Aify, the Australian
five-year-old made all the running to win by one length ahead of the
favourite TERADA. Unplaced in his last three starts, the gelding was
neglected in the betting and paid RM90 for a win.
ATTORNEY GENERAL showed so
much potential early in his career when he raced twice for a win and
second in Restricted Maiden company in Singapore in 2011. Then came his
setback, and subsequent transfer to
trainer Thomas Gillespie here.
But ATTORNEY GENERAL put
all that behind him as he made a winning debut in Malaysia in the Geisel
Park Stud Trophy in Penang back in July.
In total, he has raced just
10 times for four wins, with the promise of more to come.
