Harden Up too tough for his
rivals PENANG: Aug 17, 2013 |

Singapore reject HARDEN UP is living up to his name now that he has been given a second chance in Malaysia. The Australian gelding got his career off to a winning start when he won in his debut last year but this was followed by three dismal runs at Kranji after which he was transferred to Wee Mung Hua in Penang. Under Wee, HARDEN UP resumed after more than seven months on the sidelines to win first-up in Penang last month. Two week later, he just failed to make it a double in Penang when beaten a nose after being slowly away. Back on his home turf, HARDEN UP made sure there is no mistake this time, jumping well and made all the running to win by two and a quarter lengths. HARDEN UP was the second leg of a double for Wee and jockey Yap Kin Yin who took the opening race with outsider KIM PROTECTOR who paid RM143 for a win. |
