Ipoh trainers win five of six races

IPOH:  Jan 6, 2013

Home based trainers dominated the proceedings in a small card of six races here today when they won five races, with veteran trainer Leong Poh Keong providing a double.

The former jockey-turned-trainer had his best season for many years when he saddled 39 winners to finish seventh in the table last year.

And he landed his first strike in the new season with ONLY WISH, a veteran galloper who had four wins in 44 previous starts but was having his first start under the trainer.

Visiting jockey Gary Hind, who managed 12 winners last year, booted home the second winner for Leong with PRINCESS SARAH.
