Former Australian galloper EMPEROR MAX made it two wins from two in Singapore when he captured the Class 3 - 1200m handicap at Kranji here this afternoon.

Ridden by Lisa Allpress who also rode him in his debut, the Australian gelding came from just the pace to run down the front-running odds-on favourite RITE OF SPRING to win by three quarters of a length. He covered the journey in 1min 9.60secs.

EMPEROR MAX won his only juvenile start in Australia and had four starts at three, winning once at Morphettville.

Bred by his owner Gordon Yau, EMPEROR MAX was passed in at A$110,000 at the yearling sale and Yau raced him in Australia before bringing him to Singapore.

Racegoers were treated to an thrilling finish in the Kranji Stakes C - 1700m event on the polytrack when two horses trained by Steven Burridge, JOYOUS EXPRESS and GOLIATH, went to the line locked together and could not be separated by the photo.

Burridge saddled the winner of three other races, making it one of his best days for a long while for the former champion trainer.
