Win Million beginning to
look the part IPOH: Feb 24, 2013 |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
After suffering a set back early in his career, WIN MILLION is beginning to show just why Golden Knight Stable was willing to pay A$180,000 for him at the yearling sale. After finishing third in his debut last April, the Australian gelding had to spend six months on the sidelines and it was only in his fourth start back that he finally proved his worth with a runaway win at Sungei Besi last month. With Azhar Ismail back in the saddle again, WIN MILLION followed up on that run to win again in a Class 4 - 1200m sprint here today. The four-year-old has a long way to go before recouping his purchase price, or even win a million as his name suggest, but he certainly has a bright future ahead of him. HARRYS PAL, winner of four races in New Zealand for trainer David Miller, chalked up his second win in Malaysia for the same trainer when he scored a runaway win in the Japan Racing Association Goodwill Trophy (Class 3 - 1400m). In the process, HARRYS PAL set a new course time of 1min 21.2secs over the short course, shaving 04 second off the previous record held jointly by STOCKWATCH (2001) and SCENIC SEA (2005). Miller relocated to Malaysia last year and is based in Penang. He has four winners last year and HARRYS PAL is his third win of the 2013 season. Also this afternoon, Magic Millions promoted their forthcoming sales with the MM Adelaide/Gold Coast Yearling Sale Tour Trophy (Class 3 - 1600m) which was won by the eight-year-old KAMPONG CHANTEK. |
