Moreira in superb form with six winners

For the past three seasons, Joao Moreira had been re-writing the riding record in Singapore year after year. The score was an incredible 206 wins last year.

And it will take a brave man to bet against the Brazilian cracking that mark this season.

Fresh from landing five winners last Sunday, Moreira went one better at Kranji tonight to make it six wins, winning three races in a row twice at the meeting, to bring his tally to 44 for the season.

Among his winners tonight were two maiden winners BROWNE'S ANATOMY, who was having his fifth start, and WO AI NINN, who finally got off the mark in his 19th start. Both were partnered by Moreira for the first time tonight.

While all his other winners started either first or second favourites, PACINO started at generous odds and returned S$44 on the win tote. It was the eight-year-old's seventh win but his first in 12 months.
