SNOW MOUNTAIN, who showed
up for the first time just five days ago on Monday to cause the biggest
upset of the season yet, showed that the win was no fluke when he made it a
double in the Class 4 - 1600m handicap at Sungei Besi here today.
The Irish five-year-old,
who cost 170,000 guineas as a yearling, managed a win and a second in seven starts
in Ireland when trained by Aiden O'Brien.
After landing in Malaysia,
his best effort in 11 starts over a period of 18 months was a fourth last
November. Then last week, he battled hard to score by a neck and paid RM467
for a win over 1400m.
With a switch of rider to
Oscar Chavez today, SNOW MOUNTAIN had an easier time as he accounted for
nine rivals to win by one and three quarter lengths to pay RM37 for a win
this time.
