With Joao Moreira sidelined
through suspension, Manoel Munes sezied the opportunity to hog the limelight
with four winners at Kranji here tonight.
It was the Brazilian's best
meeting yet since relocating from Macau, where he won the premiership six
times, at the beginning of the year.
Munes' haul included wins
in three consecutive races with PINT SIZED PRINCE (who has not scored since
his only previous win in June 2011), ITISWHATITIS (whom Munes partnered to
victory in January) and SLAYER, a maiden winner after 11 starts. All three
were well supported.
His final winner JET ACE
surprisingly started favourite despite a run of 12 unplaced starts since
chalking his last win in August last year. The four-year-old repaid the
confidence of the punters with a five-length trashing of his rivals, leading
from start to finish.
"It's great to ride four
winners, but that's probably because Joao wasn't around," said Nunes. "I've
scored many four-timers before, either in Macau or Brazil. My biggest score
is seven winners in Macau in 2006, just before I went to Hong Kong."
