Dr Tan steals show with six winners

PENANG:  Dec 1, 2013

Penang Turf Club's recent decision to host a special race meeting for home based horses was a big bonus for trainer Dr Tan Swee Hock who won six of the eight races staged today.

They were his first winners since Oct 6 when he led the trainer's table with 35 winners and he has since slipped to third in the table, one behind Johnny Lim who has 36 winners. Richard Lines has also saddled 36 winners but is ahead in the table on the number of second placings.

Today's wins by Penang trainers, however, will not count in the championship race and Tan can only hope that today's showing will bring him better fortunes in the remaining six racing days of the 2013 season.

For Tan, CIZEN GIFT and BLACK VISCOUNT were first-time winners and set to improve. GOOD TIMING, LIUZZI and NO UNCERTAINTY have returned to form after some poor results.
