It was another Brazilians
show when for the second consecutive meeting Joao Moreira booted home three
winners (a hat-trick this time) while new-kid-on-the-block Manoel Nunes made
it a winning double for three consecutive meetings.
Nunes took an early double
on STREET CAT and SAVANNAH DANCER, the latter having better luck after
finding one to beat in his first two starts in Singapore.
But Moreira show got going
when he guide THINK AHEAD to a maiden win in 12 starts for the Australian
gelding who had also won once in 12 starts downunder.
DOUBLE STAR and DANGER
MONEY renewed partnership with Moreira after the Brazilian had piloted them
to victory in their last victories and both promptly returned to the winning
circle.
Singapore saw the first
dead-heat win of the season when SELECT GATHERING and CHRISTMAS shared
honours in the Benchmark 53 - 1200m sprint.
But Stephen Gray, the
trainer of CHRISTMAS, could hardly smile as his stable apprentice Wong Wei
Xiang was tragically killed in a trackwork accident yesterday morning.
Wong had given Gray his
first winner of the season on BORN TO FLY on New Year's Day.
