Stepitup makes amends with
runaway win SINGAPORE:

STEPITUP, beaten into
second place when odds-on favourite last time out, quickly made amends to
score a runaway win in the S$75,000 Canada Cup over 1400m at Kranji here
tonight.
His regular jockey Ivaldo
Santana settled the Australian gelding just off the pace and made his move
at the home bend. Four-wide at the top of the straight, he veered to the
fence in the run home but was clearing away from his rivals. He won by three
and three-quarter lengths.
It was his fourth win in
just five career starts and new trainer Sonny Yeoh, who took over from his
brother Dr Yeoh Kheng Chye last year, has a truly exciting galloper who is
very much in the reckoning in the Three-Year-Old series starting next month.
"We’ll certainly now look
to the Three-Year-Old Series with him and I think this (1400m) is his best
distance but I will give him the opportunity to run out the 1600m of the
final leg," said Yeoh.
