Trainer Wee Mung Hua was found guilty of improper conduct and fined RM25,000 by the Penang Turf Club racing stewards.

The racing stewards yesterday concluded an inquiry into a complaint from the chief stipendiary steward Scott Matthews in relation to the conduct of Wee during an inquiry held on Feb 6 in the inquiry room at the Penang Turf Club.

Wee, who was assisted by Ms Mok Cheng Yoon, a certified court interpreter, was found to have contravened Rule 12(2)(f) and Rule 152(5)(a) of the MRA Rules of Racing in that during an inquiry held on Feb 6 at the Penang Turf Club, he behaved in an aggressive and disrespectful manner to the chairman Scott Matthews, a MRA Official who was in the course of performing his duties. In the opinion of the racing stewards, Wee’s actions amounted to misconduct and/or improper conduct or unseemly behavior.
