Former champion jockey
Benny Woodworth, who spent most of last season overseas and has just five
winners to his name in Malaysia, is making his presence felt once again.
Since his return a few
weeks ago, Woodworth has ridden four winners, including one last week and a
double today when he combined forces with veteran trainer Leong Poh Keong.
Woodworth dealt punters
with the first shock of the day when he scored on PRINCE NANO who is having
his second career start after a promising debut last week.
Woodworth then replaced the
indisposed Yan Weng Kuan on GUANGZHOU STAR and made full use of the chance
to guide the six-year-old to his fifth win in 18 starts.
LOTUS PRINCESS, who failed
to show up in 12 previous outings, scored a gutsy win to pay RM156 for a
win.
SAMUI BEAUTY then provided
the biggest shock of the day when he registered his third win, but his first
since December 2011, to pay RM276 for a win in the last event.
