Jockey Yap Kin Yin returned
to the saddle after serving a four-month suspension and quickly made up for
lost time to score on THE TIGER in a Class 5 - 1200m sprint here today.
Starting second favourite
after a couple of good recent runs, the Australian gelding settled in
midfield early and Yap timed his run to perfection to win drawing away by
one length and a quarter.
It was THE TIGER's maiden
win 12 starts.
Racegoers were treated to a
thriller in the next race when GALACTIC NEBULA and TUXEDO URCHIN went to the
line locked together and a dead-heat for declared.
