Lucky 13th ride for apprentice Yusoff

Unlucky 13? Not for apprentice Muhammad Yusoff bin Fadzli.

The 23-year-old lad received the best Hari Raya present ever when he booted home his first career win on CIZEN PURE in the opening event here today.

Yusoff, indentured to Dr Tan Swee Hock who trains CIZEN PURE, rode the race of his life when he brought his mount home just a head in front of AMAZING BROTHER to claim victory in his 13th ride.

The Australian gelding had won his racing debut on this course and distance back in March and was last home in the Malaysian 3YO Championship Final last month. But it was a much improved CIZEN PURE who turned up today.

Also celebrating Hari Raya in style today was apprentice Amirul Adli bin Ismadi who had a double on EARL GREY and CARBON COPY.

EASTERN HERO, who has just turned nine, provided the biggest upset of the six-race programme here when he triumphed in the second race to pay RM362 for a win.
