Apprentice Zulkifri gets
maiden win PENANG: Apr 27,

First-season apprentice
Mohd Zulkifri Mohd Salim is off the mark after guiding GLORY STAR to victory
in a Class 5 - 1100m sprint here today.
It was the young lad's only mount of the day
and he rode like a seasoned pro, bringing the gelding from just off the pace
to win by a neck.
GLORY STAR was purchased by trainer Richard Lines for A$27,000 as a yearling
and he has now won thrice in 27 starts with the Australian bred.
For Zulkifri, who is indentured to Lines, it
was his 19th ride today.
