Azhar Ismail is bouncing
back the best way he knows after losing out on the 2013 jockey's premiership
on the final day of the season to Jai Shankar.
Azhar went into the final
day with a one-winner lead but drew a blank while Shankar booted home a
treble to create history as the first Indian jockey to the title.
Into the third week of
racing, Azhar booted home a treble here today to share the lead with Shankar
at five winners apiece.
Azhar, who recently parted
ways with top owner Golden Knight Stable, has always been popular with other
trainers and continue to do so.
His winners today were
prepared by three different trainers, all based in Ipoh, as the home
contingent made a clean sweep of the eight races contested.
